On my first mothers day, I awoke to the sound of a bag being shaken and a very irritated (because I wasn't already awake) Moses trying to get into it. Sam and I had to wrestle 'my' present off of him so that I could gaze upon it. It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL handmade pearl trinket box which Moses had picked out himself from my favorate shop in Newbury. He had been reluctant to let it go ever since, but eventually handed it over to me (I traded him with the paper bag it came in)
Its got a space ontop to put a picture of us in. I have to find a special one.
I'm going to keep my wedding rings in there when I take them off (I do when I wash my hands, I can't stand them getting wet)
I also got a lovely card from him and another one from Sam.
Not to mention a jacket that I've been wanting for a while! (thanks Sam)
We spent the day with my mum. I spent a lot of time writing the messege in the card I gave her because, let's face it, now have an idea of how much she's done for me, now that I'm trying (my hardest) to do the same with my boy. Although I could never compare.
I feel that no words on a card can explain how grateful I am to her that she not only kept me alive, but taught me and raised me and loved me over the last 22 (nearly 23) years.
So I also bought her a scarf.
Maybe that will help get the messege across. It was really nice...
Hopefully I can now spend the next 23+ mothers days enjoying my children's gratitude (hopefully) and trying my hardest to bestow mine upon my mum.
Thanks mum. One day I hope to be just half the women you are.
X
